About the Artist

demit omphroy

Demit Omphroy was born in northern California where he studied Fine Art and painting at the University of California Berkeley, while simultaneously playing on the Menโ€™s Soccer Team. At the end of his final year at UC Berkeley, he was drafted professionally to Toronto FC, becoming the first player in Major League Soccer history with Multiple Sclerosis. Demit Omphroyโ€™s artwork is colorful and playful, intertwined with motifs of life, death, and at times generational trauma passed from being raised in an immigrant family.
